please give me a break with the not getting any rank complaint.

i was stuck at r8 forever trying to break through the r9 barrier and NOBODY gave me a hand in letting me into their r9 group, yet somehow i managed.

it seems like all everybody wants these days are free hand outs to ranked groups so they tag along on the ride.

im all for rank discrimination, as this forces players to really step up, not just in terms of play ability, but also in group organization and leadership.

also, the arguement about not being able to get into groups or guilds due to a low rank doesn't even make any sense. if the player really had talent, then they would get noticed and picked up by a group/guild very quickly.

i agree with all that u said.
it's true that it's hard to gain fame for the first ranks. i came from a pve background a few months ago and now i'm on my way to r9. it was annoying till i hit r6. but by always playing in the same places, i managed to get friends. the key to HA success is team work and playing with the right ppl.
if you're good at something, u WILL get noticed and other ppl will invite u again to their groups. i think it's good to specialise in 1 class rather than playing anything so-so.
best advice i can give you is to keep trying. HA is a place for determined ppl ;p

maybe dont do PvP? try FoW or UW its much more profitable then trying to get to HoH then get a sigil when you could have gotten lots of ectos and shards.

just my sugesstion for something to try out if your ascended already

HA i wish i had that problem I can't seem to figure out how to get to HA or HoH im really confused because no one i meet knows how to get there. Everyone says they just had it (HA that is not HoH) please help me. And i dont know the purpose of HoH do you get money there or is it just a chest like my guildie says.

no sympathy from me... it took me FOREVER to get r9, like 7 months.. start from the bottom like the rest of us did.. do you expect an r9+ guild just to be like "hey we're 7/8 wanna come join us?" NO! jeeze...

And Rank is something that you don't go and just take to yourself like: "Oh let's see, if I farm two hours I'll propably get a rank".

Rank is achieved by dedication to the tactics & builds.

The stupid thing about rank is that half the people who have high ranks IWAY'd their way up there and then they switch to builds other than IWAY and scream "r9++++ BALANCED LF BLAHBLAH EMOTE AT HENCHIES" when half the time they have no idea whatsoever of how to even play a balanced build. I mean, IWAY yourself up there and try to play a monk or something and you'll get screamed at, and kicked out.

I've been into groups that are claimed "r3/6+ rspikes" when their caller who was definitely an IWAY'd r6 fool "call targets" for their spikers when he doesn't even know what the hell a jump test is. I mean, give me a break. I've been in better unranked r2 groups than these r3/6 rspikes.

IMO, guild groups looking for r3/6 people are also retarded mainly because they are looking for people who know how to play, but their own guild members have no idea how to play. A lot of the times i've seen "r3/6" guild groups looking for sb/infuse or whatever for their build and then one of their members immediately sets off the timer for the zaishen for no apparent reason.

And lastly, rank means jackcrap when it comes to practicality if you've IWAY'd yourself up there.

When was the last time you've seen somebody IWAY their way to r9? 4000 fame. IWAY hardly ever wins anything past burial mounds. How many years would it take you to farm 4000 fame in chunks of 3?

I can imagine somebody very patient (and stupid) IWAYing to 1000 fame, but r9? Riiight.

You can't expect victory in HA from random PUGS.Most cases are a bunch of inexperienced players hoping to grab a few fame.If you join a party thats looks like its disorganised or has no strategy, then leave.I'd rather wait around another couple of minutes and find a better party then rush in with a random PUG and get destroyed by a spike team.

You should try to make guild teams also, its never a good idea to place to much faith in PUGs.

The frustration I've found with HA is being kicked out of groups who want me to have some skill for IWAY(or spikes) and yet don't mention it in the beginning and then yell at me for not using the skill I don't have or have,but didn't know to bring.

Let me use my build and let it not be dictated the groups selfish wants.
